Getting ready for the warmer weather is a great time to think about what needs to be done to get your rental home ready for summer.
POOLS & SPAS
If your rental home has a pool it’s a good idea to check that the fence around the pool remains secure and safety signs are displayed and legible. Move anything children can climb away from the fence line to discourage kids using it as an access point.
Make sure the pool or spa is clean and ready to use. For peace of mind, your Property Manager can organise a free water test for you.
The consequences of not having a working smoke alarm can be devastating. While your Landlord or Leah Jay will look after the compliance and testing, it is your responsibility to replace batteries between these checks.
In Australia, summer is synonymous with bushfires. To minimise risk, remove any debris from the yard, trim smaller bushes remove any dead plants, especially if your property is in a high-risk area. Make sure BBQ or grills are clean, gas connections and bottles are maintained.
AIR CONDITIONERS AND CEILING FANS
Take care to clear debris, like branches and leaves, away from the outdoor condenser unit and clean the filters. If your property has ceiling fans make sure they are dust free before you need to use them.
The onset of warmer weather is a great time to do a deep clean on the property. Consider getting the carpets and rugs steam cleaned, wash your windows, screens and sills, clean any scuff marks and do a general dust – even in those hard to reach places.
It’s also a good time to flag any maintenance requests with your Property Manager through Leah Jay Fix. This will ensure the property is safe to be enjoyed throughout summer.
