In 1994 Leah Jay commenced her property management business as a sole trader in Hamilton. Leah ventured into business for herself after heading the rentals team at one of the region’s most reputable real estate firms.

At the time, the situation with real estate in Newcastle, as far as rentals were concerned, was a very different picture to what it is today. The interests of sales and rentals were often not the same; with sales always holding sway. This was the norm across real estate agencies in Newcastle, and throughout Australia. Leah was inspired to build a service dedicated to property investors – a specialist property management service with superior levels of expertise, care, and commitment.
It was seen as a bold step at the time; Leah Jay was the first business in the country dedicated solely to property management – many said it wouldn’t work.
The Leah Jay story continues and in 2019, we celebrated 25 years of leadership in the industry and incredible success against the odds. In 2020, our team expanded to over fifty people situated across three offices – Newcastle, East Maitland, and Belmont. And now in 2021, Leah Jay is going from strength to strength, recently evolving our brand to better reflect our growth and leadership as an organisation. We have also developed our Complete Property Management Approach, helping property investors go further.
