Kahibah is a large residential suburb on the border of Glenrock Reserve.

Part of Lake Macquarie, Kahibah sits between Charlestown and Whitebridge. The suburb is a little under 10 kilometres from the ocean by road.

Kahibah was established in the late 1860s, when the Burwood Colliery, near Glenrock Lagoon, brought residents to the then privately owned land. The name Kahibah comes from the original custodians, the Awabakal people.

Why rent in

Kahibah has always been predominantly residential. While small shops and cafes have popped up in the suburb, most of the area is still housing. Thanks to the elevation of the land, many houses take advantage of the views across the reserve and the ocean.

As well as its proximity to Glenrock, Kahibah has several parks that would suit those seeking an active lifestyle. The Great North Walk, which stretches from Sydney to Newcastle, passes through Kahibah.

Kahibah Public School is the only school in the suburb with students often attending high school in nearby Adamstown or Whitebridge.

Housing in the area is a mix of family homes and townhouses.
