Buffering Glenrock State Conservation Area are the suburbs of Highfields and Kahibah. Glenrock is the only coastal reserve in the area and a popular spot for mountain biking, hiking, trail running and swimming. The area is home to a variety of native animals and protects several ancient Aboriginal sites.

Part of Lake Macquarie, Highfields shares its northern border with Adamstown Heights and its southern border with Kahibah. The suburb is a little under 10 kilometres from the ocean by road.

Highfields is a young suburb and was only established in the 1960s.

Why rent in

Highfields is predominantly a residential suburb. Thanks to the elevation of the land, many houses take advantage of the views across the reserve and the ocean.

Housing in Highfields is dominated by family homes. It is located on the Pacific Highway, providing easy access north to Newcastle, or south to the Central Coast and Sydney.

“THANKS TO THE ELEVATION OF THE LAND, MANY HOUSES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE VIEWS ACROSS THE RESERVE AND THE OCEAN.”

Due to its small size, there are no schools or shops within the suburb. However, most children attend school in nearby Adamstown and the large Charlestown Square Shopping Centre is less than three kilometres away.
