The Newcastle Italian Film Festival is a local festival presented by Hand In Hand Art House – a non-profit organisation established to organise diverse events in the Newcastle region, donating net profits to worthwhile charities. For the past few years, the festival has donated its profits to MND New South Wales and awarded an Arts scholarship in memory of Dino Cesta, a co-founder of the festival who died of Motor Neurone Disease in 2015.Leah Jay has been a proud sponsor of the Newcastle Italian Film Festival in the past and hopes to continue to do so in the future. Having been touched by MND personally, Leah and the team are pleased to be involved in another event contributing to the fight against the disease.Seven Italian films were screened over three days in November, with wine, pizza, buffalo cheese, and sweet Italian treats provided by a number of local vendors.Overall, the festival raised $15,000 for MND NSW.
