Is your property Summer ready?

As we get ready for warmer weather, it’s also a great time to think about what needs to be done to get your property summer ready.

POOLS & SPAS

Check the compliance certificate for your pool and/or spa is up-to-date (inspections are required once every 3 years), the fence around the pool remains secure and safety signs are displayed and legible. For more information about compliance take a look at our article: Is Your Pool Compliant?

To make sure the pool or spa is clean and ready to use, it may be worthwhile organising a full service or even a water test by a professional.

SMOKE ALARMS

The consequences of not having a working smoke alarm can be devastating. For your property to remain compliant, you must have the correct number of smoke alarms installed in the right locations AND they must be checked, tested and cleaned annually.

FIRE SAFETY

In Australia, summer is synonymous with bushfires. To minimise risk, organise to have your gutters cleared of debris, plus any large bushes and trees trimmed, especially if your property is in a high-risk area.

AIR CONDITIONERS

The start of the season is the best time to carry out any general maintenance on air-conditioning systems as it’s about to get a work-out in the coming months. Regular maintenance may help to extend the life of the system. It’s also important to clear away debris from your outdoor condenser unit and clean any filters.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

It’s important to maintain the condition of your home and your property manager will keep in regular contact with and provide suggestions of what needs to be done through condition reports. Generally, taking care of things early will ensure your property is safe to be enjoyed throughout summer and potentially avoid more costly maintenance down the track.

If you need assistance, or have any questions, speak with your Property Manager who will be more than happy to help.
